Stories of Those Who Rebuild With Us

Our volunteer community brings together people from all over the world — from professional builders and architects to those holding a tool for the very first time. Different backgrounds, different countries, but one shared goal: to help those who need it most.

Volunteering with Brave helps me stay grounded and connected to reality. When things are tough, it’s easy to hide in comfort, but then you start overlooking the pain of others. I don’t want people to face their struggles alone. For me, this is also a way to give back — to those who once helped me when I had to leave Donetsk region.

Volunteering with Brave means coming to help and leaving with a sense of deep gratitude, inspiration, and the feeling that you are forever connected to the people you supported.I will never forget Ms. Nadiia, her home, and the small role we played in helping her rebuild it.

Volunteering with Brave inspires me to live for more than just myself. It’s a community of like-minded people where even the smallest action matters. This experience is priceless — it gives strength and resilience when the world feels uncertain.

Volunteering with Brave is about unexpected connections that stay with you and give your work deeper meaning. I remember at a debris-clearing workshop meeting two young men from Mariupol — same city, same university, same field of study — yet they had never met before. That’s the essence of Brave: chance encounters that unite people and give strength to move forward.

I volunteer with Brave to Rebuild because it’s a community of amazing people you’re always glad to see. It’s about helping those whose homes were destroyed, working as a team, and spending time in a meaningful way. For me, Brave to Rebuild is a warm, friendly, and supportive community where everyone can find both purpose and friends.

Volunteering with Brave to Rebuild is not only about helping, but also about deep empathy. It is a community where it’s okay to speak about your own vulnerability. Here, we learn not only how to act, but also how to take care of ourselves and each other — building not just skills of support, but also a culture of care in difficult times.
