OUR STORY

We started our work in May 2022, helping towns and villages in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. At first, we provided essential materials, and later we began organizing volunteer clean-ups, with teams travelling weekly to de-occupied areas of the Kyiv region to clear debris and repair damaged homes.

Over time, this volunteer initiative grew into an organization with strong expertise in restoring social infrastructure. Today, we serve as a trusted bridge between international donors and local communities, work closely with construction companies, and act as a leading advocate for the Build Back Better approach in Ukraine.

Our work has three main pillars:
1. Professional reconstruction
– major repairs and rehabilitation of schools, hospitals, Administrative Service Centres, and social and cultural facilities, funded by international donors and implemented together with construction companies.
2. Volunteer rebuilding projects
– on-site repair of private homes and restoration of cultural heritage sites, carried out together with a community of Ukrainian and international volunteers from around the world.
3. Educational component
– training local community representatives in modern Build Back Better approaches to create resilient and inclusive infrastructure.

Brave to Rebuild Mission

We work for the sustainable development of Ukraine by rebuilding its towns and villages.
Our principle is “building back better” — not only eliminating destruction, but also creating new opportunities for the development of affected communities.

The “Build Back Better” Approach

PARTICIPATION

At the project preparation stage, we conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys with beneficiaries to ensure that real needs and ideas for future use of the buildings are taken into account.

PARTNERSHIP

At each site, we seek to involve the local community, property owners, staff, and future users to ensure greater responsibility for the building’s use.

INCLUSIVITY

In all our projects, we apply modern standards of inclusivity and accessibility. We also regularly provide recommendations for updating national standards to make spaces in Ukraine comfortable for everyone.

RETHINKING SPACE

Before starting each project, we assess the building from the perspective of different users, forecasting how the space can be used effectively in the coming years.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We implement modern technologies that save resources and increase the energy independence of our buildings. Among them are solar panels, upgraded ventilation, thermal insulation, and more. Our goal is to make our facilities more environmentally friendly.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

We strive to minimize the environmental footprint of our projects. Wherever possible, we apply approaches that reuse construction materials.

CULTURAL HERITAGE

In the recovery process, we aim to preserve and strengthen Ukrainian identity and traditions.

SAFETY

In wartime conditions, equipping and repairing shelters is a priority. At the same time, we seek to make them multifunctional.

VOLUNTEERING

Our foundation engages volunteers from Ukraine and around the world to support the recovery of affected communities. Volunteers help by clearing debris, dismantling damaged buildings, and carrying out minor repair works.
